IC Information;
Character Name; Annie Cresta
Canon; The Hunger Games Series - http://thehungergames.wikia.com/wiki/Annie_Cresta
Canon Point; Mockingjay chapter 17 - shortly after she thanks Peeta for making the wedding cake.
Age; her age is never given, she could be anywhere from 17-23 so I'm going with 21.
House; House; Sigyn, in my opinion, Annie's demeanor after she's rescued from the Capitol has shifted from being Mad Annie Cresta, to a broken yet healing young woman who is shy and a little withdrawn, yet obviously cares about those around her.
Power; Her power would be healing, because in my opinion after all the suffering she's gone through and seen others go through, she would truly try and use her power to help those who needed it.
Personality; Annie Cresta is a very minor character in The Hunger Games series, though a big driving force for one of the characters. Not much is really known about her, and she actually only speaks a few times in the few parts of Mockingjay she's in.
Most of Panem knows Annie Cresta as the Mad Victor, or Crazy Annie Cresta. She was the female tribute from district 4 and ended up the victor of the 70th Hunger Games. Annie's not so much mad, but rather she's been broken by the Capitol. Not only did she witness the death the male tribute from district 4 (he was decapitated) but days later when an earthquake broke a dam, flooding the arena, she was the only tribute to survive, managing to swim while all the others drowned. They say she went mad during the Games and really no one can dispute that Annie Cresta left the Games a completely different person. Some could say despite that, Annie is a fighter and a survivor. Even though something obviously snapped inside her head during her Games, she still fought on, hiding, keeping herself safe and refusing to give up, when she most certainly should have.
Annie has a habit of blocking out the world, she'll close her eyes, cover her ears if things become too much for her. She laughs at strange times and at other times she'll be found just staring off into the distance, almost as if she were lost in some distant memories. About the only person who can reach Annie when she gets like that would be Finnick Odair, her one true love. With soft words, and gentle touches, he's able to draw the fragile Annie back from her shell. It's obvious that Annie not only loves him completely but trusts him as well. Finnick seems to anchor Annie a little more to reality, that or he makes it more bearable for her to continue living after the things she's witnessed and experienced.
After their wedding, Annie is seen smiling more and is never without Finnick. The two are always holding hands, and I believe it's not just for Annie but for him as well. Perhaps it's because it's the first time in a long time that Annie has felt safe, not having to worry about the Capitol swooping in the do something horrible to her or those she cares for. Though, when others see Annie with Finnick, they catch more of her unbroken self. Kind, though a bit on the quiet side. She can be around others, even talk to them a bit, but she's still easily upset and doesn't seem to have a problem trying to retreat back into the safety of her mind.
Samples;
Network Sample; [A young woman with dark semi disheveled hair, and large panicked eyes sits in the corner, her legs drawn up to her chest as she shakes her head. Her breathing is erratic and it truly looks as if the fragile string in which tethers her to reality might at any moment snap. When she begins to speak her voice is little more than a harsh whisper.] No. Can't be right. No such thing as Gods. Just a way to break me, confuse me. [She lifts her hand up and though it's shaking, she runs it through her hair, further messing it up.]
Another Game. Has to be. [Her gaze darts around the room.] But how? We were safe.... [She bites back a sob, her gaze becoming more desperate as she continues to look around, and this time when she speaks, her voice is a little louder.] Where is he? You give Finnick back!
Log Sample; Annie Cresta paused, looking around, her eyes wide. If she looked bewildered, it was probably because she was. That and she was lost... Arguably, many could say she was always lost in some way, and perhaps they were right. Maybe she'd actually completely lost her grip on reality because... Gods? Powers? Even she knew neither of those things were possible.
And yet she'd just been told they were.
Her eyebrows drew together and she drew in a shaky breath. This wasn't Panem though, not District 13. It had been grey there too... Though this place? It was different, and it scared her. She bit down on her lip, trying to fight down the panic that was threatening to overwhelm her. She needed to stay focused. Focused until she found Finnick so he could help steady her, anchor her.
Maybe she had been tossed in a different sort of Arena. The Capitol was able to do such things. Maybe she'd been caught again, but she couldn't remember... That or she didn't want to. Too many possibilities. Her mind was feeling too full and she was beginning to find it hard to focus.
"Walk, keep walking and find water. Water helps," she muttered to herself. If she was in a different Arena, that would be the best thing to do. Find water and then shelter... The girl though, she'd mentioned something about... Something, it was beginning to drift away, she couldn't quite remember what she'd said anymore.
She lifted her hand, entwining a lock of her brown hair around her fingers as she continued to mutter to herself, ignoring the grey people milling around her. She knew they were probably thinking Poor mad Annie Cresta, but she didn't care. It was normal, something she was use to. "Water and shelter," she repeated and began to move forward, her fingers still entwined in her hair. "And Finnick will find me. He'll find me and we'll be safe." But Annie was beginning to wonder if even that was true... After all, they'd told her was safe when they'd taken her from the Capitol. And now, here she was in a new place and just like it the 70th Games, Annie was alone.
